5 tart cooking apples, peeled and sliced

3/4 cup pecans, chopped

7 tbsp brown sugar, packed, divided

1 tsp. ground cinnamon, plus extra for topping

1/4 cup butter

1 ½ cups orange juice

1 tsp. salt

1 cup flour

4 tbsp sugar

Maple syrup, as needed, to serve

Preheat your oven to 400°F and grease the inside of a 9x13 baking dish.

In a large skillet, sauté the apples, pecans, 6 tbsp brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter.

Stir frequently until the apples begin to soften.

Put apple mixture in your prepared baking dish.

In a large bowl, mix eggs, orange juice, salt, and flour until smooth.

Pour egg mixture on top of apples and sprinkle with remaining sugars and extra cinnamon.

Bake for 20 minutes. Slice and serve with maple syrup.
