Ingredients
2 lb broccoli, florets only
½ cup butter, unsalted
½ cup almonds, flaked, sliced, slivered or roasted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1½ tbsp cornstarch
1½ cup chicken broth
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
Preparation
Heat up a wide skillet over medium heat and melt butter.
Add garlic & sauté until golden.
Add broccoli and sauté until tender.
Dissolve cornstarch in chicken broth. Mix to combine then add broth to broccoli. Boil just until thickened.
Add the almonds then toss to combine.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust accordingly.
Serve with mashed potatoes roughly 1 cup per serving. Best with chicken.
