Ingredients

⅓ cup all purpose flour, plus additional 1 tbsp

¼ cup sugar

1 tbsp cocoa powder

¼ tsp baking soda

⅛ tsp salt

¼ cup hot water

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 tsp vinegar

⅛ tsp vanilla

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 4x2-inch round cake pan with baking spray.

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Whisk together water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla in a cup. Add to dry ingredients and whisk just until combined.

Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until a tester comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
