Ingredients

½ cup sugar

¼ cup cocoa powder, unsweetened

½ cup hot water

½ tsp vanilla extract

1 cup sugar

1 egg

3 tbsp. vegetable oil

½ cup milk

1 cup flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp salt

1 pie crust, unbaked, 9-inch

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine half cup sugar, cocoa, hot water and half a teaspoon vanilla extract in a small bowl. Set aside.

In another mixing bowl, cream together 1 cup sugar, egg and oil, then add remaining ingredients.

Pour creamed mixture into the pie crust and then pour chocolate mixture on top.

Bake for approximately 45 minutes. Test with a wooden pick for doneness.
