Ingredients

1 lb okra

salt and ground black pepper, to taste

½ tbsp garlic powder

⅓ cup cornmeal

vegetable oil, for frying

Preparation

Wash and cut the okra into quarter-inch slices.

Add garlic powder and cornmeal into the okra. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Toss to combine.

Heat oil over medium heat.

Once the oil is completely hot, fry the okra slices in the oil until they are golden. Fry for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side.

Transfer to a slotted basket to drain. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes.

Enjoy with whatever dipping sauce you like!
