Ingredients
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
1 tbsp garlic, minced
2 tbsp lemon juice
salt and ground white pepper , to taste
3½ oz tuna in water, (1 can), drained and flaked as necessary
¼ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup green onions, chopped
1 tbsp basil, fresh, chopped
1 tbsp cilantro, fresh, chopped
1 tbsp parsley, fresh, chopped
salt and ground white pepper , to taste
8 American cheese slices
4 tbsp unsalted butter
8 wheat bread slices, (½ inch-slice)
potato fries, or potato chips
Preparation
Combine all your tartar sauce ingredients in a mixing bowl until evenly incorporated.
Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper then set aside.
Spread roughly ½ tablespoons of butter on each toasted bread slice, followed by roughly 2 tablespoons of tuna filling.
Place 2 slices of American cheese per sandwich, then spread roughly 1 tablespoon of tartar sauce per bread slice.
Cover with the other bread slice then repeat with the remaining sandwiches.
Cut it into half and serve with roughly 1 cup potato chips or fries. Garnish with ½ teaspoon of parsley.
