½ lb penne pasta, cooked, cooled

2 tbsp olive oil

2 cups red onion, diced

1 tsp Italian seasoning

2 garlic cloves, minced

¼ tsp dried thyme

1 lb ground beef

15 oz tomato sauce, (1½ cans)

½ cup parmesan cheese, shredded or powdered

1 tbsp parsley, chopped

Heat olive oil in a sauté pan.

Add the onion and Italian seasoning. Saute until onions are soft, stirring frequently.

Add the garlic and thyme and saute for 1 more minute. Remove from heat and set aside.

In a large pan, cook the beef and break it up as it cooks. Cook until browned.

Add the onion to the meat and pour in the tomato sauce and half of the parmesan. Return the pan to the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.

Toss the pasta with the sauce and serve with parsley and parmesan on top. Serve!
