¼ cup hot sauce, preferably Frank’s Red Hot original cayenne pepper sauce
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
2 tsp dark brown sugar
¼ cup water
1½ tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp white vinegar
⅛ tsp *garlic salt, (see Recipe Notes for recipe)
3 lb chicken wings, thawed and patted dry
To Serve:
¼ cup barbecue sauce
Preheat the oven at 375 degrees F.
Combine the water, hot sauce, butter, brown sugar, paprika, vinegar, and garlic salt in a large bowl. Mix well.
Add the chicken wings into the bowl and toss to coat evenly.
Prepare a foil-lined roasting tray and arrange the coated chicken wings evenly. You can also use a non-stick tray for roasting.
Roast for 20 to 30 minutes or until crispy and juices run clear.
Garnish with spring onions and enjoy!
*For your garlic salt, use 3 parts of salt to 1 part garlic powder. So if you use 1 tablespoon of kosher salt, you will be using 1 teaspoon of garlic powder to combine. Simply store it in an airtight container and your homemade garlic salt will be able to last for about a year.
