We won’t even blame you if you serve it to your Valentine!

In a large pitcher, combine sparkling wine, cranberry juice, and orange juice.Gently stir to combine and pour into champagne flutes.Garnish with fresh cranberries and serve.

Expert Tips

For a fresh, boldly citrus flavor, we recommend using fresh-squeezed orange juice in this cocktail recipe.Serve within 15 minutes of making this cocktail for the best flavor.Don’t use a cranberry juice cocktail. Use 100% pure cranberry juice for the best sweet-tart flavor.

Pro Tip: Using a champagne flute or other type of tall, thin glass helps preserve the bubbles.

Delicious Variations

Garnish it – Add a few fresh cranberries or a sprig of fresh rosemary to the glass. You can also add an orange wedge or a little twist of orange peel.Rim it – wet the edge of the champagne glass with a piece of citrus and dip the rim in sugar for a sparkling, frosty effect. Go a step further and use vanilla bean sugar for an added burst of flavor.Swap your juice – Orange and cranberry juice are classic options, but other juices work well too. Experiment with grapefruit, pineapple, and pomegranate. Take is over the top – Add a splash of orange liqueur such as Triple Sec. And if you are feeling really brave, add a bit of vodka.

Make Ahead and Storage

Mimosas are at their best within 15 minutes of being prepared. The bubbles will start to settle, and they just won’t be as tasty, so we don’t recommend you prep this in advance. However, you do need to make sure all of your ingredients are well chilled!

FAQs

How Do I Choose a Sparkling Wine?

Mimosas are typically made with dry champagne. Delicious, yes, but the price tag for champagne is higher than sparkling wine, so that’s what I usually choose. There are lots of different sparkling wines available so choose one that you like. You are adding a fair amount of juice, so you probably don’t need a top-shelf label. Italian prosecco is a nice choice. It’s affordable and still really flavorful. Yes! In a champagne glass, combine ½ cup of sparkling wine, ¼ cup of orange juice, and 1 tablespoon pure cranberry juice. Garnish with a few fresh cranberries and enjoy!

How Do I Make This Without Alcohol?

If you don’t enjoy alcohol or want to make something for the kids to enjoy, you can make a non-alcoholic mimosa! Combine the juices as directed and replace the sparkling wine with sparkling cider, sparkling juice, or for a less sweet taste–sparkling water.

I’m Not a Fan of Orange Juice. Will I Like This?

No problem! Just leave out the orange juice! The magic formula here is roughly 1 part juice to 2 parts sparkling wine. Replace all of the orange juice with cranberry juice, and you will have a bright red festive cocktail.
