8 oz cream cheese, at room temperature

8 oz celery, chopped

4 oz mayonnaise

¼ cup red onions, chopped

2 tbsp olive oil

salt and ground black pepper, to taste

6 slices loaf bread, toasted if preferred

To Garnish:

1 tsp tomatoes, chopped

1 sprig parsley

Heat up a skillet with oil over medium heat. Add onions and celery. Saute until translucent, then set aside to cool down completely.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together cream cheese and mayonnaise until evenly incorporated.

Add the cooled-down celery and fold until evenly incorporated.

Season to taste with salt and pepper and adjust accordingly.

Spread roughly 2 tablespoons per loaf bread slice and serve as a cold starter. You may also warm your bread slices first before assembly and serve as a warm sandwich.

You may opt to garnish with chopped tomato and parsley before serving as well.
