1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

½ cup unsalted butter

2 tbsp glucose, or light corn syrup

1 campagne bread, thickly sliced into 8 pieces

6 eggs

1½ cups milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

¼ tsp salt

To serve:

¼ cup maple syrup, or pancake syrup

¼ cup ice cream, of your choice

Grease a 15-inch baking casserole or any baking casserole of choice.

In a saucepot, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup.

Bring to a full boil, then reduce heat to medium and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until thickened. Set aside.

Place bread evenly in the greased casserole, then pour your hot caramel around the bread. Spread evenly.

Beat the remaining ingredients and pour the mixture over the bread.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, best if overnight.

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F.

Bake uncovered for roughly an hour or until light brown.

Serve with syrup and ice cream of your choice.
