Ingredients
3 cups flour
2 cups shortening
¼ cup sugar
½ cup water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vinegar
6 lbs apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
½ cup sugar
2 Tbsp cinnamon
½ cup water
Preparation
Mix ingredients together until they form a softball.
Cut the ball in half.
Roll out on a well-floured board.
Place bottom crust in a 9-inch glass pan.
Combine ingredients in a large pot and cook on medium heat until apples are tender.
Stir constantly so sugar, cinnamon, and juice blend.
Pour filling into crust.
Top with second crust.
Cut design in crust and brush with milk.
Bake at 350 degrees F until golden for about 45 minutes.
