1 cup brown sugar

½ cup whipping cream

½ cup pecans, optional, chopped

3 medium green apples, or apples of your choice peeled, cored, and thinly sliced

½ cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs

2 tsp. vanilla

2 ½ cup flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. apple pie spice

½ tsp. cinnamon

½ tsp. salt

1 cup milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.

To make the creamed mixture, melt ½ cup butter in a saucepan on medium heat. Add brown sugar and whipping cream; stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Be careful not to boil.

Add apples and pecans (if desired). Cook until apples soften, about 2-3 minutes. Pour the mixture in the bundt pan.

Combine ½ cup butter and sugar at medium speed with a mixer. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Beat well.

To make the flour mixture, combine flour, baking powder, apple pie spice, cinnamon, and salt. Stir well.

Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Start and end with flour mixture; mix well after each addition. Spoon batter evenly over apples.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pan 5-10 minutes.
