Ingredients

1 cup water

½ cup tamari sauce

¼ cup xylitol

1 tbsp sesame oil

2 tsp garlic powder

½ tsp ground ginger

½ tsp xanthan gum

2 tbsp sesame seeds, optional

Preparation

Place all the ingredients, except the xanthan gum, in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk together.

Bring to the boil and reduce by about ¼ of a cup.

Sprinkle the xanthan gum over and whisk in.

Continue to boil until the sauce has thickened, then remove from the heat.

Stir through the sesame seeds, if using.

Serve the hot sauce over chicken, fish, steak or vegetables or allow to cool to room temperature before storing in an airtight container in the fridge. Enjoy!
