Ingredients
1½ tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup milk, 1% low-fat
½ cup parmesan cheese, freshly shredded
¼ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 pinch paprika
Preparation
Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle flour into the melted butter, whisking constantly. Cook, whisking constantly, for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until the mixture is golden and lumpy.
Gradually whisk in milk, and bring to a boil. Cook, whisking constantly, for 1 to 2 minutes, or until thickened.
Add freshly shredded Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika, whisking until smooth. Remove from heat.
Use immediately. Enjoy!
