Ingredients
5 oz pork chops, (2 pieces), boneless, at room temperature
2 cups ginger ale
¼ cup soy sauce
4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp all purpose flour
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp taco seasoning
lemon juice, (from 1 lemon)
salt and ground black pepper, to season and taste
1 sprig thyme
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
In a mixing bowl, add ginger ale, soy sauce, onion and garlic powders, and lemon juice. Stir to combine and set aside.
Heat up half of your butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add flour and roast briefly.
Pour in your ginger ale mixture and whisk to combine. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
Continue simmering for roughly 15 minutes until the sauce has reduced and thickened.
While waiting, season your pork chops with salt, pepper, and taco seasoning. Toss to combine.
Heat up oil and the remaining butter in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Add pork chops and sear evenly on both sides, no more than 5 minutes per side.
Transfer to the oven and roast up to your desired doneness. Roughly 5 minutes for medium.
Adjust seasoning of your sauce with salt and pepper then set aside in a warm area once done.
Once your pork chops are roasted through, allow to rest briefly at room temperature before serving with the ginger ale sauce.
Garnish with thyme sprig, and serve!
