Ingredient Notes

Oats – This recipe uses rolled oats for the best result. Steel cut oats will not work. If following a gluten-free diet, then make sure to use gluten-free oats. Milk – I use whole milk, but you can also use 2% milk, almond milk, or oat milk.Sweetened – a little bit of maple syrup will sweeten these. However you can also use honey, sugar, or agave. When I make it for just me, I omit the sweetener altogether.Yogurt – You need unsweetened greek yogurt for this, which has the advantage of adding in extra protein.Strawberries – use fresh strawberries, the sweeter the better.Vanilla extract – a little bit of extra flavor. But you can omit if you desire.Shredded coconut – unsweetened shredded coconut adds extra flavor and texture. Feel free to toast this before adding.

How To Make Strawberry Overnight Oats

Mash a third of the strawberries in a bowl and then add in the yogurt, milk, and oats. Mix well and set in the fridge overnight. The mixture will be thick, but that is ok!Decant the mixtures into mason jars (or bowls) and top with remaining strawberries and coconut.

Strawberry Shortcake Overnight Oats Tips

Divide before chilling – just portion into the right-sized serving amounts before refrigeration or storing so it is easy to take one and go as needed. If you are meal prepping, then simply double the batch and portion it out into individual bowls or mason jars.
