Ingredients

2 tsp tapioca, or cornstarch flour

1 tsp ground cinnamon , or nutmeg

½ cup apple cider

4 cups green apples, sliced

20 oz pie crust dough, prepared, divided into 2 large discs

1 egg yolk

1 tbsp milk

all-purpose flour, for dusting

Preparation

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.

Assemble the filling by combining tapioca flour, cinnamon, apple cider, and apples together. Mix until evenly incorporated and set aside.

Dust both your rolling pin and working area with flour.

Roll out 1 disc of dough until you achieve a roughly ½ inch thickness.

Transfer the dough onto your greased pie tin. Leave excess dough hanging on the sides of the pie tin.

Pour your filling onto your pie tin.

Repeat steps with remaining dough.

Cover the pie and seal edges. Then, make a few slits on top.

Prepare your egg wash by beating together egg yolk and milk.

Brush this around and on top of your pie.

Bake for roughly 40 minutes, then increase your oven temperature to 400°F. Broil the crush until golden, roughly 10 minutes.

Allow to cool down and serve.
