It’s not just any guacamole, though!

With just 8 ingredients (not including salt & pepper), you’ll be able to whip this up in no time at all. It’s the perfect complement to Mexican-inspired dishes such as our Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos, One-Dish Fajita Bake, One-Pan Shrimp Fajita Bowls or as an appetizer for holidays, parties, and last-minute get togethers. I also thoroughly enjoy it as an afternoon snack when I’m needing just a little something to get me by! Really, the options are endless as to how you can enjoy Homemade Guacamole…serve with eggs, on top of a salad, on a burger and as a veggie dip to name a few.

Just be ready for it to be a common request after you introduce it to family and friends.

It’s a loaded guacamole, you know the chunky kind, with onions, pepper and garlic as well as cumin and cayenne to kick it up a notch. It’s a guacamole you can really sink your teeth into and get serious about. Best of all, this recipe is easy to change up with what you have on hand. Feel free to throw in some diced tomatoes, jalapeños, and black beans, or corn too. Get creative and use what you’ve got hanging out in your fridge or whatever mood you happen to be in!

Tortilla or blue corn chips are great for dipping…BUT so are veggies!

Guacamole isn’t just for chips. Yes, you heard me. It also makes for a fantastic veggie dip. A perfectly satisfying snack that’s a must try! Oh, and we can’t forget the plantain chips. Not a veggie per se, but totally delicious. To make everyone happy, serve with both veggies and chips! Note about Whole30: To keep this recipe Whole30, enjoy with veggies and save the chips for life after your Whole30.

Nutrient-packed and so good for you!

Avocados are the main ingredient in guacamole and as you know, avocados are quite the nutrient-dense food. They’re abundant in monounsaturated fats (heart healthy fat), high in fiber, antioxidant rich, and contain 20 different vitamins and minerals. It’s not uncommon for me to consume 1 per day. Definitely a top 10 favorite food of mine! Don’t fear this fat, friends! Low-fat diets are a thing of the past! Thank goodness.

Easy, huh?! Let’s make some Guac!

Go grab yourself some ripe avocados and give this recipe a try. When are they ripe? Good question. Look for avocados that are slightly soft to the touch. Not too hard and not too soft. Click here to learn more on how to determine the ripeness of an avocado.
